About this event:
The first printing press would have been set up by hand and would have been time consuming. The first printing press in the world was invented by Johannes Guttenberg in Germany in 1450, and in England by William Caxton’s in 1476. The press made it quicker and easier to print books, which in turn made books cheaper and accessible to more people.
In Glastonbury Abbey’s Family Activity on Friday, August 23, come along to the Abbey Museum between 11am and 1pm and try setting your own message into a block then printing it onto paper.
Normal admission applies – free for members.
