On the 29th and 30th June 2019 Dulverton will be hosting an amazing Summer Festival celebrating all things Lorna Doone as part of Exmoor’s Lorna Doone Festival. Dulverton is famous locally for its fabulous events and this will be no exception! Prepare for a fantastic family weekend in this beautiful Dulverton Town.
The Taunton Garrison will be setting up camp in and around the town and enacting scenes from Lorna Doone throughout the weekend, on Exmoor Lawns and in Dulverton’s busy Town Centre. There will be classes and activities for children hosted by the Garrison and the notorious “Doones” will be prowling around the town doing what Doones do!
Music and song will play a big part in the weekend, with many bands already confirmed who will be performing on the Dulverton Lawns throughout Saturday and Sunday including the brilliant Castletown Band, a band hailing from Bradninch playing charged up folk songs about ships sinking, sailors drinking & ladies winking… The brilliant Devon Bird will also be making an appearance along with the fabulous 5 piece Blooming Flutes.
There will be tons of fun for children of all ages, as well as Garrison activities, Wild Wellies will be running 17th Century themed activities, crafts and storytelling.

The 40+ shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs in Dulverton will be open throughout the weekend, along with stalls from Local Traders on the Lawns on Saturday. The Dulverton community love a good event and expect to be blown away by window displays and costumes!
At the end of the afternoon on Saturday there will be a movie showing on the lawn for the whole family.
