About this event:
Calling all nature lovers, you are invited to go wild for wildlife this May half term! This year Cheddar Gorge are shining the spotlight on some of nature’s most magnificent hunters: Britain’s beautiful birds of prey. Meet peregrine falcons, wise owls and other impressive local residents and learn about what makes these birds so special.
As well as meeting these amazing birds of prey, you’ll also have the opportunity to marvel at the magnificence of a live bee hive, with experts from Burnham District Bee Keeping Society on hand to educate and inspire you on these important pollinators. Head out on a ramble with a Ranger from The Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Team and learn more about the flora and fauna in the gorge, take a walk with a resident ecologist and conservationist and learn about the wonderful wildlife that surrounds you.
And the fun doesn’t stop there, when the evening draws near, discover their local horseshoe bats on a special Twilight bat walk.
