About this event:
Mrs Gibson started her career at Abbey House as housemaid Annie Gibson. Find out about life of the times as seen through the eyes of a domestic servant with Mrs Gibson (aka Kay Wych) – she may give you some gossip!
Also joining her will be Robert Fear (aka Bill Wych), who will share his memories of his association with the House and its occupants when he leased the garden in 1857. Weather permitting, you will be able to enjoy a tour of the garden.
Afternoon Tea is from 2pm to 4pm.
On the menu is a selection of freshly prepared finger sandwiches – cucumber, egg mayonnaise with cress, smoked salmon with cream cheese, coronation chicken and ham and mustard. Plus warm scones with clotted cream and strawberry preserve, and a variety of homemade cakes with a choice from a range of teas.
Afternoon Tea is £16 per person, and Afternoon Tea with a glass of Prosecco is £20 per person. There’s a minimum of four people per booking, and please specify any dietary requirements in the special notes when you book online here.
Admission to the abbey is not included but can be paid for separately. Afternoon Tea must be booked in advance. Group bookings available.
